Last Thursday students of 1st of ESO made yogurt in science class, the class was in English and was so fun!
To make the yogurt we mixed whole milk with some yogurt previously made and then we put the mixture in the yogurt maker at 37º all night. Finally, we put it into the fridge to cool it down and we could taste it.
Here you have the videos in which we explained the process.

Five things about me

The 3r A students have worked on a project in order to introduce Five interesting things about themselves. Here are some of the examples.

Tuesday, 7 July 2015

Last June we were informed that the project Erasmus+ KA101 - Experimenting Science- we submitted in the month of April had been accepted. This is a grant given by the European Union together with the national agency SEPIE (Spanish Service for educative internationalisation) that will allow 5 of our teachers to stay at a British country in order to improve their English language fluency and to know first hand new educational actions.

Last 6th of July, the School Council passed this project drafted by the Team Group that consists of the participants of the stay, two members of the Administrations of the high school, and two members of the Parents Association. This project has obtained 90 out of 100 possible points, a very good mark since the minimum one was 71. There has been 800 projects all over the state and just 320 have been granted.

This opportunity of staying abroad will take place during next course 2015-2016 and will let the high school improve our teacher's linguistic competence what will have a direct effect on our students, the teaching methodologies and the quality of the teaching, optimising the social cohesion of the educational community.

A very important goal reached that will encourage us to go on working hopefully to get, later on, a scholarship for our students to stay abroad (KA102)

In the image you can see the Parliament Building Victor Villegas, Murcia, where we were given an informative talking last 22nd and 23rd June.

Our vegetable garden

Growing your own vegetable garden can do more than provide tasty produce—gardening can improve health, save money and even boost mood. Community gardens, backyard plots, and even window boxes are gaining in popularity, and tomatoes are among the first seeds new gardeners plant.

Snakes and Ladders is an ancient Indian board game regarded today as a worldwide classic. It is played between two or more players on a gameboard having numbered, gridded squares. A number of "ladders" and "snakes" are pictured on the board, each connecting two specific board squares.
The object of the game is to navigate from the start (bottom square) to the finish (top square), helped or hindered by ladders and snakes respectively.

During the last month the groups of 3rd and 4th ESO have been practicing DUOLINGO at the ICT room. First they were asked to take a placement test and after that each pupil worked on different units according to his/her level. The activity has been quite motivating for the advanced students as well as gratifying for those who have more difficulties with the English language. They can also work on it from home and the results appear on the teacher's page.

Here is the ranking, try to improve your English and your position! What do you think of the activity?

Halloween '15

On the 31st October we celebrated Halloween. It's a nice festival because we work all the Institut Escola together. The 3rd and 4th ESO students prepared a gymkhana for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th primary students, whereas the 1st and 2nd ESO did some workshops for the students of 1st and 2nd primary. We all enjoyed it very much and we would like to know your comments on the festival in order to improve it. Thanks for leaving a reply!

Here are some of the pictures.
